Forecast: sun and cloud 29C/83F towards the end of the afternoon/evening it got very humid :(
I woke up early because it was already quite hot in the bedroom and I needed a drink. So I was up at 6.45 am, and as Mr Cee was awake, we got up, fed the cats, and had breakfast. At 7.30am he 'went' to work (remotely in our study), and I got dressed and tidied up after checking Lj/DW and Facebook.
I was pleased that the little plants I have in a new hydroponics gadget are already sprouting. I have lettuces, basil and parsley seeds germinating. It was interesting that the system suggested soaking the seeds in water for an hour and only using those which had sunk to the bottom of the container. It seems to have worked! I will have to thin out the seedlings when they are a little bit bigger so that I only have one baby plant in each planting basket (there are 10 baskets in the container).
By that time it was 9.30am so I set off for the first of the two Pilates classes I take each week. I had had an email from my teacher to say we had a substitute teacher we had not had before so I wasn't sure what to expect. It turned out that she was not quite as tough as our usual teacher, but it was a close thing! Fortunately, she didn't do too much cardio work as it was hot, but we did lots of stretching and extensions so I still got quite warm! It was a good lesson.
I got back home just after 11am and drank lots of water! Mr Cee took his lunch break at noon, and we sat and caught up until it was time for him to return to work. It was still fairly cloudy at that point, but quite warm so I took a chance and spent some time in my garden glass studio. I have a small project I want to make, but it was so hot out there (34C/93F) that the sweat was running down my nose as I was cutting the stained glass out! So I lasted about 40 minutes before I had to stop. I'll go out on Wednesday morning before it gets too hot.
By then Mr Cee had finished work at 2.30pm so we popped out in the car to pick up the floor tiles we had ordered at the weekend for our new porch. They will look like a wooden floor when they are laid, but they are ceramic so nice and easy to clean. It was nice to drive in the air-conditioned car but it wasn't that far away....
Once back we caught up with a new TV series called The Lazarus Project. We started watching it at the weekend, and it's quite clever. We watched an episode, then Mr Cee went out to buy some dinner as we didn't fancy what we'd planned (instead he bought hummus and taramasalata and Greek bread and some salad). After we'd both had showers we ate that and finished the last couple of episodes which have set things up nicely for another series \0/
That was about it for the day, although we did catch up with Bake Off: The Professionals as it was the semi-final and it was tense :)
Bedtime will be around 10.30-ish but it might be sooner than that for me as I'm quite tired....
